FTTH Solution

The FTTH solution is an architecture of optical transmission network, where the network diverges from one port at the central office (OLT) until reaching each final subscriber’s house individually with one fiber, passing through optical distributors, responsible for the transition of the different modularity of optical cables. These distributors are ODFs, splice closures, termination boxes or even optical termination points, according to the application, which serve the last section already inside the residence.

After the last transition, the signal is made available by a pigtail or optical cord to this subscriber’s optical receiver (ONU).

The success of the GPON networks, broadly used in the FTTH access networks to deliver triple play services (data, voice and video) to residential subscribers, is the optical fiber, which starts from the service provider’s central office and reaches the subscribers’ residences.
